As President of MP Synergy (Private Sector) in Washington, DC, from 2019 to the present, Michelle Pourciau has demonstrated her expertise in transportation and infrastructure management, leveraging over three decades of experience in the field. A certified public manager, Michelle Pourciau brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. In her most recent position as director of the Baltimore City Department of Transportation, she oversaw the completion of more than $250 million worth of bridge construction and played a key role in the award-winning Big Jump bicycle project. Additionally, she led the installation of over 100 speed and red light cameras, showcasing her commitment to enhancing transportation safety. In recognition of her contributions, Michelle Pourciau was honored with the Women Who Move the Nation distinction by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials in 2018.
Prior to her tenure in Baltimore, Michelle Pourciau held various leadership positions, including executive director of external affairs at the University of the District of Columbia and roles at Sigma Associates, Inc., and McKissack & McKissack, where she worked with federal, local government clients, and private businesses on transportation-related matters.
Ms. Pourciau's career began with the DC Government, where she served in various capacities for 22 years. She served as director of the Department of Transportation from 2006 to 2007 and as deputy director for six years before that. Additionally, she spent 15 years as the director's assistant with the Department of Public Works' Capital Programs, Policy, and Planning.
